
Bernardo Sambra is a peruvian conservationist photographer specialized in the underwater world and wildlife.
His images and articles have been published in various magazines around the world such as Scuba Diver, Aqua, Asian Geographic, Panorama de las Americas, Immersion, Golden Dolphin, Diver Channel, Dive Pacific, Rumbos, Conde Nast Traveler, TravesÃas, X-Ray Magazine, Underwater Photography Magazine among others. His photographs have been internationally recognized in various competitions in the field and have taken part in exhibitions such as Ocean Expo, Image Makers Masters Gallery, Underwater Reflections and Oceans: A World to Discover.
Bernardo has led underwater expeditions and has been a speaker at various forums as well as judge and keynote speaker including the prestigious underwater image festival Celebrate the Sea in Singapore.
Eight years ago, Bernardo and his wife Valerie created The Living Oceans in order to help disseminate through photography the beauty of the underwater world and especially to raise awareness about the fragility of its inhabitants.
Under the slogan "Protecting through images" The Living Oceans has brought together in various books and international exhibitions the work of the foremost underwater photographers in the world in an unprecedented photographic crusade.
Through The Living Oceans, Bernardo has published three books, the last of which OCEANS, with the prologue of the famous photographer David Doubilet, have been awarded with the PADIS prize for the book of the year.
